Early Morning Accident Claim’s Driver’s Life

A head-on collision on Tuesday morning killed one driver and left the other driver in critical condition.

The accident occurred at 7:20 a.m.at Highway 121 and Collin County Outer Loop Rd. According to Anna Police Sgt. Jeff Caponera, a GMC Yukon driven by Azelia Alvarez of Westminster collided head-on with a Chevrolet 2500 pickup truck driven by Lindy Lawley of Columbine.

Both drivers were transported via CareFlite to Medical Center of Plano. However, however Alvarez died en route. She was a court clerk for the city of Prosper. Lawley, a Plano firefighter, is in critical condition at Plano Medical Center.

“No witnesses stopped at the scene of the accident,” said Caponera. “We are not sure who was at fault and this is an ongoing investigation.”
