Van Alstyne High School played host to the Fall Festival on Oct. 5, a fitting day if there ever was one with temperatures making the event feel very fall-like. On the other hand, rain and lightning off to the north had organizers hoping desperately that the weather would hold out. It did — for awhile. The always well-attended festival saw a generous crowd once again and kept it entertained with face painting, games, contests and food. Carter BloodCare was even on hand to take donations.
