At the conclusion of a successful first-year event, organizers of The Great Big Van Alstyne Fall der All went to work immediately to build a bigger and better Fall der All for 2013.
The Great Big Van Alstyne Fall der All is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 19 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Produced by the Van Alstyne Chamber of Commerce, Fall der All is organized by a steering committee of co-chairs Cheryl Snyder, Van Alstyne Chamber of Commerce President, and Donna Spies, committee chairs Judy Womack, Shannon Morgan, Sherry Heath, Wendelyn Tilleman, Ben Buckwalter, Karen Zihlman-Ahrens and Melissa Anderson.
Sponsorship participation has been key in assisting the festival to expand. At press time, major sponsors included Meadowbrook Care Center, Bob Utter Ford, Debra Pettit Coldwell Banker, Kinetic Solutions LLC, Bob and Lola Sanford, Landmark Bank, Benton Luttrell Real Estate, GCEC, Summit Mercantile, Ben Buckwalter, Texas Select and Cody Trailers.
Building on the 3,200-plus guests in attendance last year, Fall der All organizers are working around the clock to increase capacity in all areas, including vendors, non-profits, parade, entertainment, food and a car show.
To increase availability and to recruit, all applications (vendors, non-profit, parade and car show) are available online at www.vanalstynechamber.org. Last year’s event hosted more than 80 vendors, and early numbers committed are promising to make 2013 even larger. Due to category limited availability, vendors are encouraged to respond quickly.
Facebook has also been valuable in increasing a Fall der All presence. Potential guests and participants can join the page at The Great Big Van Alstyne Fall der All for constant updates and announcements about the growing event, as well as applications.
Entertainment will be featured on two stages throughout the festival, and the lineup is putting Van Alstyne on the Texas music map. Early commitments include The Effinays, Exit 51, Taylor Marie, White and Spears, Sean Franks & Chapter 11, Jeff Hopson, Katee Gaddette, Aubrey Lynn England, Van Alstyne High School Jazz Band and future announcements are expected.
The Scarecrow Parade is scheduled for 10 a.m.,
