Gunter High School Honors its Top Graduates

Gunter High School has named its 2013 valedictorian and salutatorian, Matthew McMullan and Anthony Franze, respectively.

McMullan, son of Rick and Gayle McMullan of Gunter, topped the list of 83 students graduating Friday. He plans to study mechanical engineering at Texas A&M University in College Station.

Franze will study meteorology at Valparaiso University in Indiana. He also recently signed a letter of intent to run track for the school. He is the son of Robert and Lee Franze of Gunter.

Fourteen other students are graduating with honors from the school. Those students are Jamie Boelens, Alexandra Lashley, Ellen Brandt, J Bailey, Reagan Reed, Braden Bardach, Monica Hall, Eric Farr, William Neely, Sabrina Howell, Megan Lee, Kyle Garner, Brandon Flores and Eva Watson.

Gunter High School also recognized scholarship winners during a recent awards ceremony. More than 30 students were awarded a total of more than $574,000 in scholarships.
