On Sunday, July 28, at approx 5 a.m., Howe officer John Grant stopped a 20-year-old Tom Bean woman for a traffic violation in the 300 block of US Hwy 75. After smelling the odor of alcohol on the driver, Grant obtained consent to search the car and found alcoholic beverages inside. The driver was arrested for driving without a license and charged with Minor in Possessio of Acohol, Open Container, and Speeding.
A 20-year-old male passenger gave Grant a false name and date of birth. After determining this, the Howe officer arrested him for Failure to Identifiy (Fugitive from Justice). He was also charged with Open Container and Minor in Possession of Alcohol. The suspect was wanted on an unrelated Failure to Identify charge out of Sherman. Three other occupants in the vehicle were released, and the driver’s vehicle was towed.
On Sunday, July 28, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Howe officer Jordan Clark responded to a report of individuals throwing eggs from a white Ford Explorer in the 900 block of Calder Street. Clark found three vehicles at residences on Calder Street that had been hit with eggs. At approximaetly 12:10 a.m. Monday morning, Clark stopped the suspect vehicle on Denny Street. The driver, an 18-year-old Collinsville resident, admitted that he and two other 18-year-old males from Howe were riding around throwing eggs. Officer Clark located the other suspects at a residence on Hall Cemetary Road. All three suspects were issuded citations for Criminal Mischief less than $50.
