Van Alstyne’s Newest Marine

Congratulations go to Joshua Hindman who went through Marine Corps graduation at the Marine Corps Recruiting Depot in San Diego, Calif., on July 3 to take his place as a Marine. He was named as squad leader and received a Rifle Expert medal during his time in basic training. Hindman is in San Diego currently completing his marine combat training (MCT) and will make his way to Pensacola, Fla., after that for nine months of tech schooling. His military occupation specialty (MOS) will be as an aviation tech on Bell Cobra helicopters. Hindman is the son of Randy and Tina Hindman of Van Alstyne. He is a 2011 graduate of Van Alstyne High School.
