Van Alstyne police responded to a pair of driving while intoxicated calls and a report of vandalism in a week which which included eight incidents and 269 calls for service.
On July 13 at approximately 10:26 a.m., VAPD officers responded to a reported hit-and-run after a vehicle driven by Edward Morales, 26, of Anna, swiped a semitrailer at County Line Rd. and the west side service road and continued to drive on. Police located and stopped Morales and arrested him for a DWI, misdemeanor B, and possession of marijuana, misdemeanor B.
On July 14 at approximately 4:26 p.m., VAPD officers arrested Steven Graham, 62, of Whitewright, on suspicion of DWI. Graham was arrested on West Van Alstyne Parkway.
At 2:50 p.m. on July 16, police were called to a residence in the 700 block of Rigsby. The residence is unoccupied and someone had entered and spray painted graffiti on the walls. A suspect is being sought for the graffiti and criminal trespass. The case is under investigation.
