VAPD officers made a second arrest on the 20th, this one at 9:18 p.m. Juan Paredez, 43, of Sherman, was arrested for DWI misdemeanor B after police responded to a reckless driver call on northbound U.S. Highway 75.

VAPD Chief Tim Barnes wants to remind the public to be especially cautious while out enjoying Halloween on Oct. 31.
“We just want to remind people that there are going to be a lot of children out and to drive safe,” said Barnes.
Drivers are urged to eliminate distractions while driving and be on the lookout for children on and near roadways.
As for the trick or treaters, Barnes reminds them to be cautious and be on the lookout for cars. Barnes also urges parents to have their children wear reflective gear on their costumes, even glow sticks if possible.
Barnes stated that there will be additional officers on duty for Halloween night.
