When we think of dinosaurs, we tend to think of giant animals that roamed the earth when probably no other animal was alive. If you visited our library last Friday night for Dinosaur George (Blasing) you know that is not true. Not only were other animals alive, but not all dinosaurs were giant. Animals such as scorpions and centipedes also lived during the time of dinosaurs. George brought skulls, talons and teeth from dinosaurs large and small and had us all laughing in the aisles with his entertaining, yet educational, presentation. Thanks to the Friends of the Van Alstyne Library and Friends of the Howe Community Library for sponsoring this event.
Monday morning the creative juices were flowing in our children during Lego Day. Buildings, flying machines, vehicles that roll and even whole houses turned up. Next Monday is our last program for this summer. Bring the kids for Big Rig Day. There will be a police car, fire truck, ambulance, pipe and inner-pipe camera and a big truck from Public Works. You do not want to miss the fun.
Teen Council has Movie Night coming up Aug. 22. Watch our web site for more details. www.cityofvanalstyne.us/library
