Van Alstyne Falls to Coyotes

The Anna Coyotes scored a go-ahead run in the top half of the sixth inning on a bases-loaded walk to come home with a 2-1 win at Van Alstyne on Feb. 25.

Coyotes pitcher Ty Chapman pitched a one-hitter, striking out seven to get the victory.

The Panthers got on the board in the first inning as Kearon Redmon drew a leadoff walk and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Jacob Darnell. Redmon moved to third on a wild pitch, then scored on a sacrifice fly by Kyler Jay.

Alex Phillips doubled in the second inning for Van Alstyne’s only hit of the contest.

Anna punched across the winning run in the sixth to take the win.

The Coyotes will play over the March 1 weekend in the Gunter Tournament , while Van Alstyne will be in action at a tournament in Elysian Fields.
